Terms & Conditions

In order to provide an efficient, reliable and affordable service to our customers we operate under the following terms and conditions:

1. Quotes, estimates and general enquires are and always will be free. Please never hesitate to get in touch.
2. If a quote is accepted to finish off a previous companies painting and decorating work, a deposit of 50% is required regardless of the reason for the company not completing the work. The name and telephone number of the previous painting company is also required for reference. At random, some companies maybe contacted.
3. Once a quote has been agreed and accepted a deposit of 20% is required. This amount is deducted off the final invoice.
4. The cost of any materials is to be paid on the first day work comences. Please note the deposit is not to cover materials.
5. Partial payments for completed work may be requested from customers during long-term projects to facilitate cash flow to buy materials.
6. This deposit is none refundable if you choose to cancel the agreed work.
7. If walls suffer from nicotine staining before they’re painted this will effect the quote. Failure to tell Willows will result in a less than perfect finish which Willows will not be responsible for.
8. If Willows Painter & Decorator attend the work site on the agreed date and for any reason outside of our control are unable to start work then charges will apply. This may include loss of deposit; a day rate of £200 (extra charges may apply on weekends and other times outside of standard working hours) for each lost days work. Possible reasons include (but are not limited to): lack of access to room/s, uncompleted works, health & safety concerns. It does not apply if we can't start work due to poor weather.
9. If work has commenced but willows are unable to finish part of area/s due to no fault of their own, the customer still has to pay the full quoted price. Examples may well be, customer has asked areas to be left, trades in areas making it not possible to finish, lack of access, unforseen issues that make it not possible to apply paint.
10. It's not the responsibility of willows to move furniture or large items but will help if asked, within reason. Willows will not move small items/ornaments or personal possessions. This will always be a customers responsibility and failure to do so may result in work pausing or in a worst case secnario the job being canceled.
11. It is the customer's responsibility to make sure the work area is in a suitable state for work to commence. Additional cleaning work or packing of fragile goods will result in an additional charge of £50 per room.
12. As standard two coats of paint are used unless explicitly specified in the initial quote. Additional charges will apply if more than two coats of paint/stain are requested and/or needed. Charges will be for the total time required to finish the extra works, not just the application time of paint/stain. This could incur an extra day rate charge of £200 (extra charges may apply on weekends and other times outside of standard working hours). This applies to all internal and external work and includes all types of materials and finishes.
13. In the event that the customer asks Willows to choose a paint/stain colour, the customer is responsible for costs incurred in changing this colour if they subsequently don't like it. An additional coat for ceilings & walls together is a minimum charge of 30% of the job but could be higher if it has a knock on effect. For example, going into another day.
14. While Willows will make every effort to leave a clean and tidy site, it's not the resbosibilty of Willows to remove waste. Willows are not a licensed waste carrier so removing waste has leagal and insurance implications.
15. Upon completion of the work an invoice will be issued.
16. Full and final Payment must be made on the final day of completion.
17. If full payment is not received within 7 days Willows reserves the right to add an additional 10% on to labour charges.
